Project Overview

Navi Mumbai International Airport.

Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) is an under construction greenfield international airport being built at Ulwe Kopar-Panvel in Maharashtra, India. It will be the second International Airport for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, The project required the relocation of 2,786 households located across 10 villages - Chinchpada, Kopar, Kolhi, Ulwe, Upper Owale, Waghivalivada, Vaghivali, Ganeshpuri, Targhar and Kombadbhuje. Most of the residents affected by the project are fishermen, farmers or work odd jobs. CIDCO compensated land owners paying ₹1,500 (US$22) per sq ft of the land, rent for 18 months, and a developed plot of land of a size equal to triple the roof area with 1.5 FSI in the Pushpaknagar node.

the first flight from Navi Mumbai International Airport was expected to begin operating by September 2021.

Mumbai Trans Harbour Link

The Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL), also known as the Sewri-Nhava Sheva Trans Harbour Link, is an under-construction 21.8 km, freeway grade road bridge connecting the Indian city of Mumbai with Navi M byumbai, its satellite city. When completed, it would be the longest sea bridge in India. The bridge will begin in Sewri, South Mumbai and cross Thane Creek north of Elephanta Island and will terminate at Chirle village, near Nhava Sheva. The road will be linked to the Mumbai Pune Expressway in the east, and to the proposed Western Freeway in the west. The sea link will contain a 6 lane highway, which will be 27 meters in width, in addition to two emergency exit lanes, edge strip and crash barrier.

MTHL is a 6-lane freeway grade road bridge. It is 21.8 km long, including 16.5 km sea bridge and 5.5 km of viaducts on land on either end of the bridge.[8The MMRDA also stated that it would declare nearly 2 km of the MTHL on the Sewri side as a "silent zone", as well as near schools and other sensitive areas on the Navi Mumbai side of the MTHL.

Rail Corridor ( Seawoods-Uran Railway Line )

Nerul - Uran line is a newly opened railway line in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra India. It was inaugurated on 11th of November 2018. Daily services started from 12th of November 2018 The total length of the corridor is 27 km and consists of 10 stations.

The 11 stations on the proposed railway line are Nerul, Seawoods, Targhar, Bamandongari, Kharkopar, Gavhan, Ranjanpada, Nhava-Sheva, Dronagiri and Uran. The project is to be completed in two phases Nerul/Seawoods to Kharkopar and Kharkopar to Uran.
